Johnson is a multi-licensed beauty professional, adjunct professor, international beauty educator and the proprietor of Nails & Faces of Joy Spa. She's been in the beauty business for more than 10 years and was inspired by the natural and inner beauty of her late mother, who happened to be a vibrant and innovative fashion model. Early on, Johnson developed an earned passion for the artistry of beauty and makeup; and it’s led her down an exciting and fast-paced path to pursue her place in the beauty industry. Her natural sense of style and keen business sense resulted in Johnson's establishing Faces of Joy Makeup Artistry in 2007, which expanded in 2010 with the addition of her companion company, Nails of Joy. Combining the two, she then created Nails & Faces of Joy. In February of 2017, she decided to go mobile to serve clients in their homes.

Professionally trained at Bennett Career Institute in Washington, D.C., Joy had the privilege to study under many of the industry’s best. She enjoys sharing her artistic knowledge through teaching other artists as well as consumers about the art of makeup, lashes and the world of beauty. Joy knows and appreciates the value of education as well as the positive change it can bring about. That is why she stands by her motto, “There is nothing more powerful than an equally talented and educated beauty professional.”

She has freelanced in numerous events for Lancôme, Nars and Cover Girl Cosmetics. Her makeup brushes have graced the faces of the cast of Vagina Monologues and her nail brushes have polished numerous nails for music videos.
